As writers we are asked to write shorter and shorter pieces packed with tons of information.  As part of a writer’s group, I brought in some Sweethearts. At first I brought them in as a treat.  Then when I gave them out, I asked them to rewrite the Sweathearts in their own words.

The results were very interesting.

After receiving the heart “#B Love”, a writer wrote “More Amore.” She saw the “#” not as a Twitter hashtag but as a number sign.

I found that I could use a pink pen to write messages of encouragement on the backs of the hearts. See what I wrote in the photo.

The original heart phrases were;  “QT Pie,”Wink Wink,” “Say Yes,” and others that were eaten by the writers.

What kind of writing that you see can you eat and rewrite?

After reading this how would you rewrite the sayings in the photo?

You can only use two-to-three words, the shorter the better. You can use the “heart” symbol and other symbols that would print on candy.
