Do You Need a Ghost Writer or Editor?

ghostMany times, I get calls, that ask for ghost writer. They start off with this.

“I’m writing a book on my life. I have 200 pages written and I need a ghost writer.”

Then I tell them that if you have something written, you don’t need a writer, you need an editor.

A good editor will take what is written and fix it so that it reads well. Some editors actually rewrite most of what is written, depending on the the quality of the text. Most book editors will charge you by the hour.  It could run into thousands of dollars.

Getting it published is another story.  That’s why I recommend Dan Poynter’s Self Publishing Manual.  He has written books on publishing for over 30 years and knows the ins and outs of publishing.
